On the heels of the MB2 success, I received a commission to build a globe for Dr. Anthony "Tony" Tether, Director of DARPA. I printed three copies of the maps; one for Tony's globe, one for my globe and one for spares (which, it turns out, were needed). The maps were still being printed by a commercial printer at 200 dpi.

MB3 was on display in Tony's office lobby from 2004 until 2008. During a visit there the office staff recounted many stories of Tony and his visitors using the globe as a focal point of the discussions they were having. The globe is currently in Tony's private collection.

I made a second globe with those same maps (MB4), which I keep in my office.
